Save on Energy offers a variety of energy-saving programs, as well as free tips, articles and resources, for residential customers across Ontario. Whether you want to upgrade your home, get rewarded for being energy efficient or save on your energy costs, there is a program for you.
Programs for your home include:
- Peak Perks: A program that rewards participants for opting into automated smart thermostat adjustments when electricity demand is high on the hottest summer days.
- Home Renovation Savings Program: A rebate program for energy-efficient home upgrades, co-delivered with Enbridge Gas and supported by the Government of Ontario.
- Energy Affordability Program: A program for income-qualified Ontarians offering free energy-saving upgrades or energy-saving kits.

Flexible options allow you to choose whether a home energy assessment is required.
To qualify, you must be:
A homeowner of single detached or semi-detached homes, row/townhomes and mobile homes on a permanent foundation.
An Enbridge Gas customer with an active account and primarily heat your home with a natural gas furnace or boiler OR be connected to the Ontario electricity grid and heat your home with electricity, oil, propane or wood.

- Apply for an instant rebate by clicking the “Get code” button.
- Shop online or in store and use the code at checkout.
- If you already purchased a smart thermostat, apply for your $100 rebate by clicking “Apply for rebate” button and upload your receipt within 60 days of purchase.
For attic insulation
- Confirm your eligibility.
- Choose a participating contractor.
- Complete upgrades.
- Receive your rebate.
For appliances
- Confirm your eligibility.
- Purchase a new, eligible appliance. Used or refurbished appliances do not qualify.
- Submit your rebate application online within 60 days of purchase for appliances bought after Nov. 19, 2025.
Home energy assessment required
- Check your eligibility. Complete a quick online form to find out what you qualify for.
- Schedule an assessment. Before beginning any work, complete an initial home energy assessment with a registered energy advisor from an approved service organization.
- Get a custom report. See which upgrades are recommended for your home and choose at least two to complete.
- Install your upgrades. Have your preferred contractor complete the work.
- Schedule a follow-up assessment. After upgrades are installed, complete a final assessment with the same registered energy advisor.
- Receive your rebates. You will receive your rebates after your energy advisor submits all required documents.

- Additional attic or basement insulation
- Weatherstripping around doors and windows
- Smart thermostats
- Cold climate air source heat pump
Energy Saving Kits
Depending on eligibility and the existing equipment in your home, each kit may include:
- LED light bulbs
- Weather-stripping
- High-efficiency handheld showerhead
- Faucet aerators (kitchen and bathrooms)
- Retractable clothesline
- LED night light
- Block heater timer
Who can participate?
Eligibility for Comprehensive Support
To qualify, you must be:
A resident of an eligible Social Housing property, OR An individual who owns, rents or leases a residence, is listed as the primary or secondary utility account holder, AND meets ONE of the following criteria:
- A. Have an annual household income for the previous year that does not exceed the limits based on the number of people in the home found on: saveonenergy.ca/eap.
- B. Received assistance from one of the following programs in the past 12 months:
- Allowance for Seniors
- Allowance for the Survivor
- Guaranteed Income Supplement
- Healthy Smiles Ontario Child Dental Program
- Home Winterproofing Program
- Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
- Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
- Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP)
- Ontario Works
- C. Any on-reserve community member.

- Save energy year round.
- Increased home comfort.
- Income-eligible Enbridge Gas customers apply automatically to the Home Winterproofing Program for more energy-saving upgrades.
How to Participate:
1. Check if your household income level qualifies at saveonenergy.ca/eap.
2. Apply online or by phone at 1-844-770-3148 to schedule a home visit with an authorized delivery agent.
3. If eligible, based on your home audit, receive free energy-efficiency upgrades professionally installed by qualified contractors.
4. Alternatively, your energy saving kit will be shipped by mail within two weeks. There are no fees or shipping costs.

Who can participate?
To be eligible to participate in Peak Perks, you must:
- Be a resident or small business (50 or fewer employees) in Ontario with central air conditioning, a heat pump, or a rooftop unit that is controlled by a smart thermostat.
- Have an eligible Wi-Fi-enabled smart thermostat installed in your home or business.
- Not be participating in another demand response program in Ontario where your thermostat is automatically adjusted to help maintain reliability of the electricity grid.
Benefits of Peak Perks:
- Get a $75 virtual prepaid Mastercard® when you enroll in the program—and an additional $20 prepaid Mastercard each year you stay enrolled.
- Save on electricity costs during the hottest summer months.
- Contribute to a more affordable and reliable electricity grid.
- Stay in control and opt out at any time.
How to Participate:
1. Buy and install a smart thermostat if you don’t already have one.
2. Enroll your smart thermostat online at saveonenergy.ca/peakperks or on your smart thermostat app.
3. From June through September, the temperature of your enrolled smart thermostat will occasionally be adjusted by no more than 2 degrees Celsius for no more than three hours during periods of peak energy demand. Events will take place on weekdays and will not occur on weekends or holidays.
4. You can opt out of a thermostat-adjustment event from your mobile device, web browser or thermostat at any time.
