Synergy North Customers Can Save Up to $175 with Smart Thermostat Programs

Residential customers looking to lower their energy bills and improve home comfort have a new opportunity to maximize savings through two energy efficiency programs that are available to Synergy North customers.

By purchasing and installing an eligible smart thermostat, customers may qualify for up to $175 in rebates through the combined benefits of the Home Renovations Savings Program and Save on Energy’s Peak Perks Program.

Smart thermostats help homeowners better manage their heating and cooling systems by automatically adjusting temperatures based on schedules and occupancy. In addition to improving energy efficiency, these devices can contribute to long-term cost savings on monthly utility bills.

Receive a $100 Smart Thermostat Rebate

Through the Home Renovations Savings Program, eligible customers can receive a $100 rebate when purchasing a qualifying smart thermostat.

Customers can apply for the rebate by visiting Home Renovations Savings and selecting the rebates available without an energy assessment. Participants may either obtain a discount code before making their purchase or purchase a thermostat first and apply for the rebate within 60 days.

The program is designed to encourage homeowners to invest in energy-efficient technologies that help reduce household energy consumption.

Earn an Additional $75 Through Peak Perks

Customers who install an eligible smart thermostat can also enroll in Peak Perks, a demand-response program offered through Save on Energy.

Upon successful enrollment and verification, participants receive a $75 prepaid Mastercard. The programs work by making small, temporary adjustments to the thermostat settings during periods of peak electricity demand, helping reduce the strain on Ontario’s electricity grid while maintaining customer comfort.

Enrollment can be completed online by selecting a thermostat model and following the application instructions provided through the Peak Perks portal.
